May: Prophets and Revelation

We are blessed to have a prophet on earth today. We need living prophets to guide and direct us. We can learn many things that pertain specifically to us in our day. Listening to and heeding the prophets words will bless our lives, and the lives of those around us as well.

April: The Apostasy and The Restoration

Why is Joseph Smith so important to our church? There is so much we can learn from him. 1st-Study the scriptures! Joseph and his family spent a lot of time studying the scriptures. By loving and knowing the scriptures he was prompted to pray. With that simple humble prayer he changed the world! 2nd-Pray! Never be afraid to pray to your loving Heavenly Father. He is there to answer any and all questions we have about life. 3rd-Never give up on the Lord! After the First Vision Joseph Smith went years without any other visits. He spent those years standing true by what he had see and new was true. He waited patiently for the Lord. We must always remember that the Lord is aware of us, that in His time, all will be understood.
He was truly an amazing prophet and we can be blessed by following his great example!!

Reminder: Tonight's Activity is at 5:30PM at the church!!!!! Please don't be late!!!!!

When Jesus Christ lived on the earth He established His church. With the help of His apostles they spread this gospel. Unfortunately once Christ and all the disciples had died, the church died with it. While many churches today have parts of Christ's gospel and the good that comes with it, they don't have all of it. That is where Joseph Smith comes in. Jesus Christ helped him restore His church. It is always important to remember that we belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This is His church and we must do all we can to live and love like He did while he lived on this earth.

REMINDER: Tonight's activity starts at 6:30pm. Sunday Dress!

Mosiah 3:7, "And lo, he shall suffer temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death."

During this life we feel pain, despair and heartache. Not only does the Atonment help us repent from sins, but we can be comforted by our Savior because He felt all the pain, despair and heartache we would feel while on this earth. Our Savior is the perfect person to turn to when we are having a hard time because He knows those feelings!

March: The Atomenent of Jesus Christ

This month we are going to focus on our amazing Savior, Jesus Christ. Sister Elaine S. Dalton said, "The Savior came to the earth to show us how to live the plan that was authored in heaven--a plan that, if lived, will make us happy. His example showed us the way to return home to our Heavenly Father."

This life is not easy and we will be tempted to do the wrong thing, but we have the perfect example of how to live. Jesus Christ showed us the way to love, respect and serve. If we strive to live like Him our lives will be filled with joy and peace. We will be on our path back home to our loving Heavenly Father!

February: The Plan of Salvation

We are taught that our bodies are a temple. Why is this so? Why are our bodies so important to Heavenly Father's plan? In the premortal existence we willingly and joyfully accepted the plan of salvation and the plan to gain a body. But why were we so excited? Sister Susan W. Tanner gives us the perfect answer. She says,"We understood eternal truths about our bodies. We knew that our bodies would be in the image of God. We knew that our bodies would house our spirits. We also understood that our bodies would be subject to pain, illness, disabilities, and temptation. But we were willing, even eager, to accept these challenges because we knew that only with spirit and element inseparably connected could we progress to become like our Heavenly Father and receive a fulness of joy."

Please always remember to treat your body like a temple. Treating your body in the most respectful way is one of the greatest ways to prepare ourselves for going to the temple and for eternal life.

February: The Plan of Salvation

In life we all suffer from trials and adversity.  Neil L. Anderson said, "Like the intense fire that transforms iron into steel, as we remain faithful during the fiery trial of our faith, we are spiritually refined and strengthened." So as we go through life these trials, trust in your Heavenly Father. He knows you, He loves you. He is forming you, rounding out the tough edges to help you become more perfected and stronger version of you. He is preparing you for Eternal Life with Him!

February: The Plan of Salvation

The wonderful Plan of Salvation allows each of us to have Free Agency.  The For Strength of the Youth pamphlet says, "Heavenly Father has given you agency, the ability to choose right from wrong and to act for yourself. Next to the bestowal of life itself, the right to direct your life is one of God's greatest gifts to you. While here on earth, you are being proven to see if you will use your agency to show your love for God by keeping His commandments. The Holy Ghost can guide you in using your agency righteously."

February: The Plan of Salvation

This month we are focusing on the plan of salvation! The plan that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ set in place is a plan of love, joy and happiness!
Thomas S. Monson said, " God, our Father, and Jesus Christ, our Lord, have marked the way to perfection. They beckon us to follow eternal verities and to become perfect, as They are perfect."
May we strive everyday to learn more about their wonderful plan and how it can constantly make our lives better.

January: The Godhead

This week we want to focus on our Savior Jesus Christ. Gordan B. Hinckley said, "Nothing done before or since has so affected mankind as the atonement wroght by Jesus of Nazareth, who died on Calvary's cross, was buried in the tomb, and on the third day arose from the grave as the Living Son of the Living God--The Savior and Redeemer of the world."
Because of the atonement of Jesus Christ we can have joy, peace, love, repentance and eternal life. He is the perfect example of how to life our lives.

January: The Godhead

This week we want to focus on our Heavenly Father. He is literally the Father of our sweet Spirits and He loves you dearly. Know that you can always turn to Him in your times of need as well as your times of need. We can always pray to Him for help, comfort, guidance and understanding. He has put forth a plan on this earth so that we can one day return to live with Him. He wants to see us happy and has all the tools we need to be truly happy!

January: The Godhead

The 3 members of the Godhead are 3 distinct individuals with the same purpose. Think of them as a candle.
-Heavenly Father is the candle, the base.
-Jesus Christ is the flame, the light of the world.
-The Holy Ghost is the oxygen needed for the flame to burn, not seen but still necessary to see the light!  
They work together to bring us joy and light!

2013

Welcome to the New Year! We are so excited for the wonderful things that are going to happen in the Youth program this year! Here are a few on the 2013 changes:

1) This year's theme is 'Stand ye in Holy Places and be not moved.' We have put this years song on the side bar for you to enjoy. You can also click on the theme picture to be lead to LDS.org for more wonderful videos about this year's theme.

2)There is a new curriculum which means every month we will study a different topic. Each month we will have a link on the side bar that will take you to LDS.org where you can learn more about that month's topic. There are so many wonderful scriptures, talks, videos and Personal Progress ideas!

3) Personal Progress can be done online and we are really excited about it! For those young women who would prefer to do their personal progress online instead of in a PP book please come talk to us about how to get signed up!! Again, we also have a link on the side bar leading you to the PP website on LDS.org!
