February: The Plan of Salvation

We are taught that our bodies are a temple. Why is this so? Why are our bodies so important to Heavenly Father's plan? In the premortal existence we willingly and joyfully accepted the plan of salvation and the plan to gain a body. But why were we so excited? Sister Susan W. Tanner gives us the perfect answer. She says,"We understood eternal truths about our bodies. We knew that our bodies would be in the image of God. We knew that our bodies would house our spirits. We also understood that our bodies would be subject to pain, illness, disabilities, and temptation. But we were willing, even eager, to accept these challenges because we knew that only with spirit and element inseparably connected could we progress to become like our Heavenly Father and receive a fulness of joy."

Please always remember to treat your body like a temple. Treating your body in the most respectful way is one of the greatest ways to prepare ourselves for going to the temple and for eternal life.

February: The Plan of Salvation

In life we all suffer from trials and adversity.  Neil L. Anderson said, "Like the intense fire that transforms iron into steel, as we remain faithful during the fiery trial of our faith, we are spiritually refined and strengthened." So as we go through life these trials, trust in your Heavenly Father. He knows you, He loves you. He is forming you, rounding out the tough edges to help you become more perfected and stronger version of you. He is preparing you for Eternal Life with Him!

February: The Plan of Salvation

The wonderful Plan of Salvation allows each of us to have Free Agency.  The For Strength of the Youth pamphlet says, "Heavenly Father has given you agency, the ability to choose right from wrong and to act for yourself. Next to the bestowal of life itself, the right to direct your life is one of God's greatest gifts to you. While here on earth, you are being proven to see if you will use your agency to show your love for God by keeping His commandments. The Holy Ghost can guide you in using your agency righteously."

February: The Plan of Salvation

This month we are focusing on the plan of salvation! The plan that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ set in place is a plan of love, joy and happiness!
Thomas S. Monson said, " God, our Father, and Jesus Christ, our Lord, have marked the way to perfection. They beckon us to follow eternal verities and to become perfect, as They are perfect."
May we strive everyday to learn more about their wonderful plan and how it can constantly make our lives better.
